• CRIC Interview ("어쩌다화학")

My name is Kwang-sun Kim, an associate Professor at the Department of Chemistry, Pusan National University (PNU), Korea. I have received my Ph. D. at KAIST, Korea, on Aug 20th. 2004 with the thesis tile of “Biogenesis of small noncoding RNAs in Escherichia coli.” Then, I have worked as a Research Fellow at KAIST till Apr. 2005 and moved to Stanley N. Cohen’s lab at Stanford University as a Post-doctoral fellow.  From 2006 to 2010, I’ve been developing genetic screening systems to identify cellular modulatory factors of ribonuclease activity. Then, I have returned to Korea and worked as a senior researcher at KRIBB with the researches on antibacterial resistance and their action mechanisms (2010-2015). I finally moved to PNU as a faculty position and have studied new concept antibacterial nanomaterials, vaccine platform development, and their utilization in biological and environmental approaches. Till now, I have published more than 60 SCIE papers, awarded Best Young researcher in 2019 from PNU, and registered 6 patents. Now, I am working as Gues editor in Pharmaceutics and a Review and Topic editor in Frontiers in Pharmacology.
